Case Study 2 – Bizmetric India
Rewiring Leadership for Innovation at Scale.
How Bizmetric’s Leadership Team Adopted Design Thinking to Drive Strategic Agility and Collaborative Problem Solving.
I am so grateful for Mike Schoner and his team at Coachfocus! Moving forward, I am very excited to learn all.
Overview:
Company: Bizmetric
Program: Design Thinking for Leadership & Innovation Workshop
Participants: 14 Senior Leaders & Functional Heads
Duration: 2 Days (Immersive Bootcamp)
Delivery Mode: In-person, Hands-on Facilitation
Objective: Equip the leadership team with human-centered innovation tools to lead transformation with empathy, creativity, and clarity
The Challenge: Leading Innovation in a Fast-Moving Tech Ecosystem.
As Bizmetric rapidly scaled across verticals, the leadership team asked:
“How might we build a culture of innovation that cuts across functions, empowers teams, and solves real business challenges with empathy?”
Strategic misalignment, functional silos, and over-reliance on traditional planning tools were limiting agility and collaboration.
The Insight: Innovation isn’t just a Process – It’s a Practice.
Pre-workshop interviews revealed a key realization:
“Our people don’t need more slides. They need shared experiences, tools, and a safe space to experiment and solve problems together.”
Leadership needed to shift from directive decision-making to collaborative problem-solving rooted in user needs.
The DTE Solution: A 2-Day Strategic Innovation Bootcamp.
Design Thinking Educators (DTE) facilitated a highly interactive bootcamp tailored to Bizmetric’s strategic context. The agenda blended human-centered design principles with real-time leadership practice.
Featured Activities:
– The Tallest Tower Challenge
Teams built a tower using paper glasses, without using their hands. A playful activity that revealed assumptions, exposed team dynamics, and highlighted the importance of communication and iteration.
– Design a Wallet (Stanford d.school classic)
Each leader designed a wallet—not for themselves—but for their partner, using interviews, sketching, rapid prototyping, and feedback. This immersive activity reinforced the power of empathy and user-driven solutions.
– Live User Interviews
Conducted with internal stakeholders to reframe real organizational challenges.
– Challenge Framing & Journey Mapping
Focused on hiring, project onboarding, and client handovers.
– Rapid Ideation & Prototyping
Sketched solutions and created low-fidelity prototypes to solve selected business pain points.
– Leadership Integration Models
Applied frameworks like Psychological Safety, Innovation Flywheel, and COE (Center of Excellence) Design.
The Impact: Culture Shifts & Strategic Clarity
