Case Study – PM YUVA & Wadhwani Foundation Sponsored EEP.

How 20 Educators from 15 Institutions Became Certified Entrepreneurship Champions.

Pradhan Mantri YUVA Yojana’s Educator Program Transforms Faculty into Innovation Mentors through Experiential Learning & Design Thinking.

Though we met only for 5 Days, as a Master Trainer, I’ll remember you for a lifetime. The exuberant energy, communication skills and depth of knowledge you carry is ultimate.

Overview

  • Institution: 15 Higher Education Institutes across Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh
  • Program: Entrepreneurship Educators Program (EEP) – under Pradhan Mantri YUVA Yojana
  • Participants: 20 Faculty Members
  • Duration: 5 Days
  • Delivery Mode: Residential, Experiential Workshop (Offline)
  • Objective: Build faculty capacity to foster campus-based entrepreneurship ecosystems and deliver NEP-aligned, real-world entrepreneurial curriculum

The Challenge: Reimagining Faculty as Facilitators of Entrepreneurship.

The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) posed a bold question:
“How might we transform educators into catalysts for entrepreneurial mindsets across Indian campuses?”

In most institutions, faculty were still reliant on theory-heavy instruction. There was a pressing need to instill hands-on teaching capability, exposure to innovation tools, and a mindset shift from “lecturer” to “mentor.”

The Insight: Teaching Entrepreneurship Must Be Entrepreneurial.

The program design leaned heavily on one powerful realization:
“Educators can only cultivate entrepreneurship if they first experience it themselves.”

This led to a curriculum built around learning by doing, design thinking, real-world business challenges, and self-reflective evaluation. From Day 1, participants were immersed in activities where they had to ideate, pitch, prototype, sell—and most importantly, reflect.

The DTE Solution: A 5-Day Intensive Immersive Training Program.

Led by DTE’s Ayan Kumar Bandyopadhyay under the aegis of PM YUVA and Wadhwani FOundation’s Entrepreneurship Educator Program, the 5-day workshop incorporated:

  • Design Thinking Sprint
    Empathy-based challenge solving (e.g. “Redesign a wallet)”
  • Entrepreneurial Tools
Brainstorming, Mind Mapping, Opportunity Evaluation, 7-Domain Framework
  • Action-Based Exercises
One Dollar Venture: Start & earn from a micro-business in 1 evening
  • Sales & Pitch Mastery
Customer Profiling, Personal Selling, Elevator Pitches
  • Teach-Back Facilitation
Educators evaluated on 48 facilitation parameters using COPIS framework
  • Startup Ecosystem Training
Guidance on running E-Cells, Practicum, Mentorship Clinics & Campus Startups
  • Reflection & Evaluation
Pre and post assessments to measure learning delta and delivery skill growth

The Impact: A Multiplier Effect on Innovation Education.
